Simple and Modern Foyer

This new-build foyer is designed and styled by Jordanne Simons Interiors, nestled in the most Southwest part of Edmonton in Keswick on the River. With a blend of modern and traditional, this space feels bright and open but still warm and comfortable. This foyer sets the tone and feel for the entire home design the moment you step in. If there was ever a great first impression - this is it!

One of our favourite places to source rugs is from Loloi - there is something for everyone, every budget, every style. This rug is a crowd favourite for a reason - the colours and vintage-inspired design add so much warmth to any space (also great for hiding dirt - a must here in Edmonton!) They also clean up so well and stay looking as beautiful as when you first got them.

Draw your eyes up and you'll land looking at this beautiful waterfall console table - so simple and timeless. It's adorned with beautiful pieces that add interest, warmth and texture. This line art portrait, Scarlett, from Juniper Print Shop is such a beautiful print. We just knew she would look so lovely in this space. We love using digital prints! They are affordable, customizable and you will always have a copy to print more if you like. I always use Vivid Print here in Edmonton. If you're local, definitely check them out; their quality and service are incredible!

One thing that we can not stress enough is how important lighting is when it comes to design. There are so many layers of lighting that help set the ambiance of your space. Choosing your type of lighting is the most important aspect of lighting design and then comes the fun of selecting your fixtures - sourcing lighting is one of our favourite aspects of design! This pendant is a showstopper in this foyer, the brass curves around the milk glass globe are truly what our lighting dreams are made of. Its subtle beauty ties in the design and provides beautiful ambient lighting.

This foyer is quite narrow, and we wanted to utilize the space as best as possible without taking up too much room. We added this understated peg coat hook and another little art print above. It's such a special space with great function and style. This small foyer did not need much to make it shine but what it lacks in size it seriously makes up for in the design. A lesson that great design does not always have to cost a lot, or be grand in size. Being intentional about your space and what you bring into it, really goes a long way.

We love how this foyer came together; every detail was sourced with intention and flows so effortlessly. It's inviting and casual, something we aim for in all of our designs. If you've made it this far, thank you, we appreciate you! We will do our best to show you our work and provide design tips so you can implement them in your own home.
